I have the honour to ack; the receipt of Sir M. Nathan's despatch No 87 of April 11th and to inform you that in addition I approve the appointment of a third European officer to the Interpretation Staff of the Supreme Court and Magistracy
2. I concur in the proposal that Mr A.J.Mackie should be transferred to this appointment with a sterling salary at the rate of £225 a year. Mr Mackie will not gain in salary by this transfer and will be adversely affected by the loss of exchange privileges for the purpose of leave-pay and pension but in view of the unsatisfactory character of his service in his present ... post I consider that it is reasonable that on
